Do you want to learn how to utilize the healing benefits
of essential oils to balance skin conditions?

This 3.5 hour intensive course will assess essential oil science and then dive into their ability to benefit and heal numerous skin conditions. We will review the skin’s anatomy, and various personal factors that affect one’s skin’s integrity. This class will also investigate the skin barrier dysfunction, as well as the skin- brain relationship regarding emotional triggers. We will discuss skin sensitivity issues, such as inflammation, rosacea, oxidative stress, aging and sun protection, among others. To conclude the intensive class, there will be a discussion on formulating and blending to help correct and bring balance to these conditions for a holistic healing approach.

    Course Objectives:
    * Illustrate details of the skin anatomy.
    * Describe the procedures for examining the skin for lesions and disorders.
    * List and describe common pathologies of the integumentary system.
    * Identify how the integumentary system affects essential oil absorption.
    * Examine essential oil treatments for specific conditions and disorders of the skin.
    * Review holistic strategies for addressing specific skin conditions.

After receiving her B.S. degree in Botany from the University of Florida, Cary Caster, LMT, CA studied Aromatherapy in the UK, where it is still practiced as a medical treatment. She then earned her certification as an Advanced Clinical Aromatherapist with Rhiannon Harris of Essential Oil Resource Consultants in France. Cary received her Massage License from the Florida College of Natural Health and is a former board member of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists.


Continuing Education Credit (CEU): This conference has been planned and implemented in accordance with the essential areas and policies of the Florida Board of Nursing for Continuing Education.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations must be received in writing no later than two weeks before the start date of the course to be eligible for a refund, less a 10% of full registration price cancellation fee. Cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the start date of the course but 72 hours before the start of the course are eligible for a refund, less 20% of the full registration price. Failure to appear at the program with no written cancellation 72 hours prior to the program will result in complete forfeiture of the registration fee and course will not count toward continuing education credits (nonrefundable, nontransferable, no exceptions). Registrations are non-transferable. Cancellation requests must be received in writing by email to UM Osher will reply with a written acknowledgement.
